19.11.15 - Thomas de Visser (modern Jazz)
The Thomas de Visser Quartet is an energetic and hard swinging band from The Hague. These musicians have gained a large amount of experience in the past few years. The striking personal sound of these musicians has already been heard on the great stages in The Netherlands and beyond. They performed on stages and festival like, among others, The North Sea Jazz Festival, The Hague Jazz Festival, International Jazz Festival Middelburg and the Bimhuis. Their repertoire is rooted in the hardbop tradition but they are also strongly inspired by the New York jazz scene of today. Sonny Rollins, Benny Carter, Woody Shaw, Duke Ellington, Philly Joe Jones, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery and Roy Hargrove were some of the great musicians that have strongly influenced their playing.
